The Chief Executive Officer of Sindhica Reforms Society is currently traveling from Karachi to Washington, DC, via Doha, to participate in the 69th GEF Council Meeting of the Global Environment Facility Council, scheduled from 2 to 6 June 2025 in Washington, United States.

The Global Environment Facility is a multilateral partnership of 186 countries, international institutions, civil society organizations, and the private sector, working together to address global environmental issues.

GEF Council, its principal governing body, meets twice annually to develop and approve policies, programs, and funding for projects in key areas including biodiversity, climate change, international waters, land degradation, chemicals and waste, and sustainable forest management.

The Council consists of 32 members: 14 from developed countries, 16 from developing countries, and two from economies in transition.

Sindhica Reforms Society is a registered non-governmental, non-profit organization based in Pakistan, actively working for environmental protection, sustainable development, and community welfare, particularly in the Sindh province.

The organization has been engaged in various field-based initiatives focused on environmental awareness, natural resource management, water conservation, climate resilience, and community empowerment.

SRS advocates for inclusive environmental governance and strives to bring grassroots concerns into national and international policy dialogues.

The CEO’s participation in this 69th GEF Council meeting reflects the organization’s ongoing commitment to contribute to international efforts toward sustainability and environmental justice.

He will represent the perspectives and challenges faced by vulnerable communities in Pakistan, especially those affected by climate change, and seek collaborative opportunities for impactful environmental initiatives.

At Jinnah International Airport, just hours before departure, Mr. Ameen Keryo, CEO of Sindhica Reforms, shared a warm and memorable dinner hosted by Muhammad Yaqoob Laghari.

The evening carried a sense of purpose and quiet excitement as both prepared for their journey to Washington, D.C. They are set to attend the prestigious 69th GEF Council Meeting together, representing shared commitments to sustainable development and reform.
